Chunky Hand Knit Blanket Class
3 hours, $45 per person
Makers will provide their own yarn so that they can choose their own colors. You will need to acquire at least 4 skeins of Jumbo #7 sized yarn, and up to 6 or more depending on how tight you knit and how large you want your blanket.
The tighter knit you make your blanket, like finger knitting, the smaller your stitches will be, and therefore, the smaller your blanket will be. If you'd like a decent sized throw but would like tight stitches, I recommend at least 6 skeins for a throw blanket. The larger you'd like your blanket to be, the more yarn you will need to acquire, and the longer your project will take to complete. Beginners should consider between 4-6 skeins while ambitious or experienced makers could consider 6 or more skeins depending on how large they want their blanket.
**This is my most popular class! Most makers prefer tighter knit stitches, so I recommend a minimum of 6 skeins if you don't want toes poking through your loops! Makers who choose only 4 skeins typically finish during the class time. Everyone will be shown how to finish their blanket before leaving, you can even record my demo for finishing off**
Yarn recommendations include: Bernat Blanket BIG Yarn from Michaels, Bernat Blanket Extra Thick from Joanne's, Yarn Bee from Hobby Lobby, Mainstays Chunky Chenille Yarn from Walmart. I have personally used all of these yarns and know they come in Jumbo #7, but double check the size before you buy!
